The Explorit Center
Located in Yverdon-les-Bains, the Explorit center was designed to meet the various needs of visitors: retail, health, wellness, dining, … It has everything you need. Explorit is especially appreciated for its leisure and discovery spaces (with the science city, exhibitions) for children and their families. We had the opportunity to green one of the restaurants in the center.
The Biotope Restaurant
Biotope is one of the latest dining spaces in the center. This self-service restaurant stands out with a universe composed of five atmospheres: fauna, flora, water, air, and earth. We find these elements directly in the decoration, with, for example, shades of blue to represent water or wallpaper that immerses us in the forest for the fauna. The Biotope restaurant offers the opportunity to experience a unique and unprecedented experience. It is in this setting that Végétal Tendance had the pleasure of adding a touch of green.
Maintenance-Free Plants at Biotope
For this exceptional project, we furnished the restaurant with several high-end artificial plant solutions: a wall, a panel with an integrated logo, vines, and hangings.
At the entrance of the restaurant, we installed an artificial plant panel with a logo. It adds a green and modern touch right at the entrance. This panel is composed of cascading stems, ferns, and a few bouquets of red color. Integrating the logo on a plant background attracts attention and conveys the brand’s green values.
Near the buffet, we adorned a wall with artificial vegetation. The finish is very clean with a few clovers, white bellflowers, and bouquets with large colored stems. This wall mimics spring countryside atmospheres.
In the rest of the restaurant, we decorated the ceiling with vines and hangings. The vines are accompanied by artificial vegetation to dress certain ventilation ducts, as these are not always very aesthetic. We used the same finish as for the artificial plant wall. These vines give a jungle effect to the spaces. Regarding the hangings, we opted for round and textured hangings. They blend in with the various suspended light fixtures. These plant hangings provide significant plant density and create a sense of movement. In one of the restaurant’s rooms, we also installed hanging plants. Arranged in pots, these cascading plants create a true indoor garden. We varied the vegetation by using, for example, eucalyptus or philodendron that elegantly cascade down.
Artificial, a Strategic Choice for the Restaurant
The choice of artificial for a restaurant is not trivial. It is preferable for this type of establishment to opt for artificial to eliminate any hygiene-related risks. Maintenance-free plants are the ideal solution, as they withstand all nuisances (steam, UV from the sun). They allow for a warm, durable, and aesthetic decoration all year round. We only use high-end artificial plants to achieve a realistic and elegant result. Our maintenance-free plants are primarily made of PU or textile materials. The restaurant can now enjoy modern and maintenance-free decoration.
